1995-2000 Jaguar XJR

The 1995-2000 Jaguar XJR is the collectible version of the first redesigned Jaguar XJ sedan under Ford ownership. The new sedan had more than 2000 new or retooled components, and was available in base XJ6, Vanden Plas, XJR, and XJ12 guises. 

The XJR ran with a 322-horse supercharged 4.0-liter six; it was the first engine in Jaguar history that was not naturally aspirated. The supercharged six was refined but gave out with a pleasing growl and brisk, smooth acceleration. 

In 1998 Jaguar brought out its first V-8 engine. The XJR gained a supercharged version of that engine, with 50 more horsepower than the six; 0-60 times fell below six seconds. Although nearly silent at idle, the new V-8 still had a pleasant growl when pushed.
